FAQs
NADVS provides peer-to-peer support for survivors of domestic violence in honor of the value, dignity, and worth inherent in every survivor.
As we stand in solidarity, firmly rooted in both personal strength and collective power, we work to create a world where survivors are safe, believed, respected, and empowered to lead.
Victim services are crucial for victims and survivors who are working to get out of an abusive relationship and need assistance in legal, housing, financial, or other areas of help.
We are so grateful for the work of advocates across the nation that provide these crucial and lifesaving services. The National Alliance of Domestic Violence Survivors (NADVS) has a mission to provide post-crisis supports that are long-term and assist survivors as they navigate the impacts from the abuse the rest of their lives.
We found that survivors needed supports beyond the first few years after leaving an abusive relationship – as they rebuild, heal, and grow. Supports that acknowledge and values all of their experiences and identities within being a survivor and outside of any labels. We stand in solidarity with victims and survivors and aim to offer a support that has not been available in the past to survivors. Whether it has been 5, 10, 20, or 30 years after their experience – we value personal strength and collective healing that allows survivors to show up with authenticity, strength, and their truth.
If you or someone you care for needs victim services, please visit our Resources page or call the National DV Hotline: 1-800-799-7233.
